facilitating instinctive birth through focus and connection.

Our initial consultation allows us to learn more about each other; we’ll discuss your wishes for doula support and the services I provide. If we decide I'm the right fit for your birth team, we will schedule your first prenatal visit. The initial consultation is free. Book here.
Prenatals include a minimum of 3 two-hour long appointments (in-person or via zoom). During this time together, we cultivate a trusting relationship as we discuss:
physiological process of birth.
stages of labour.
your wishes and birth plan.
fears and cultural conditioning.
the role of the partner (if applicable).
physical and emotional comfort measures during labour.
any questions, concerns, anecdotes or emotions that surface along the way.
I’m available in-between sessions via email or phone for whatever may arise. From 37 weeks on, I'm on call for the birth––available 24/7 by text or phone call.
-
Once contractions have begun and we determine you’re ready for my support, I will be present throughout the entirety of the birthing process. During prenatals, we discuss the early signs of labour and the timing of my arrival, so you know when to call.
After your baby has arrived, I will stay with you for up to 3 hours. During this time, mom-baby-(partner) connection and relaxation are most important. My role is to do whatever is most helpful to ensure mom is settled and this bonding time goes uninterrupted.
-
Within the first 12 weeks of your postpartum, we will schedule 2 in-person postnatal visits.
These appointments are more fluid by nature and address your needs at the specific time of my visit. In our prenatal appointments, we will cover ways I can support you during postpartum, such as:
Providing resources for breastfeeding, sleeping and physical/emotional encouragement/reassurance/
affirmation.
Unpacking and integrating your birthing process.
Cooking, cleaning, and organizing around the home.
Massage therapy.
meet your doula
My name is Adriel and I would be honoured to participate in your sacred rite of passage into motherhood. I can trace my reverence for birth work all the way back to the womb, as my mother completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency during her last trimester with me. For the past ten years, I’ve immersed myself in diverse birth work circles and communities across the U.S. and now Amsterdam, where my doula practice is based.
It has been incredibly rewarding to watch the acceptance and appreciation of doula work grow over the years, reinforced by studies demonstrating continuous labour support leads to better birth outcomes. As your doula, my goal is to create a calm, holding space for you to connect inward with yourself, your baby and your partner. I am dedicated to making labour support accessible to all communities — especially those that tend to be overlooked and underserved.
My practice is built on the trust of the mother’s instincts and self-knowledge. I help to facilitate instinctive birth through focus, guidance and connection. Together, we can create a birth journey that respects your unique needs and empowers you every step of the way. Reach out to book an initial consult.
i'm looking forward to meeting you

As a doula, I offer physical, emotional, practical and informational support to a pregnant person and/or couple before, during and after childbirth.
Since each person, couple and birth is different, I find flexibility in my role to adapt to each birthing journey.

No. As your doula, I do not replace medical professionals or midwives.
Doulas complement the care provided by midwives and/or medical staff by offering additional emotional and physical support throughout the entirety of the birthing process.
It is because doulas are not medical that we have a positive effect on birth.
